Step 1 - Seen. Notice your own emotions. Name them. Feel them.
Step 2 - Safe. Remind yourself that you’re OK and in a safe place
Step 3 - Soothe. Deal with your emotions appropriately. Think in terms of body, mind, heart and spirit.
Body - exercise, stretching, yoga, etc
Mind - Music, books, scriptures
Heart - Connection with others
Spirit - Prayer, meditation, books
Following these 3 steps, you WILL create more security in your relationship with yourself, your wife, your kids and others.
